Pinner is in the London Borough of Harrow and dates back to as far as the 14th Century. Known for its wide tree-lined streets, most of Pinner is considered to be a conservation area which is why you will often see superbly maintained Edwardian and Arto Deco style houses which are highly sought after. There are also an abundance of Victorian and Edwardian houses, along with some inter war buildings and in recent times a number of new build flats and office conversions have also appeared.

Historic buildings in Pinner

  • Waxwell Farmhouse
  • The Victory Public House

Common building defects affecting properties in Pinner

Being a well established practice in Pinner, we have been fortunate enough to visit a wide array of houses and apartments in the area and have offered advice to hundreds of homeowners over the years. With this experience, we've also witnessed a number of defects which we are common to properties within Pinner. Some of these defects include:

  • Japanese knotweed and other invasive plant species
  • Delaminating roof tiles, particularly in Art Deco style properties
  • Breaching of DPC levels due to the raising of driveways and patios
  • Structural cracks to buildings due to heave and shrinkage cycles of clay subsoils/underground streams
  • Chimneys not capped/ventilated
