Information
We were appointed by the Building Owner to notify all of the Adjoining Owners of the proposed works. The Adjoining Owners' properties were detached houses based in Wimbledon which is within the London Borough of Merton and is close to Putney, Richmond and Barnes.
Discussions were had with the Adjoining Owners regarding the proposed works and the options available to them under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. Both neighbours chose to appoint their own Surveyors to act for them in relation to the proposed works.
Following a site visit to carry out all of the Schedules of Condition, our Party Wall Surveyors prepared the Party Wall Awards, before one Award could be agreed, the Surveyor acting for one the Adjoining Owners' deemed themselves incapable of acting (one of two ways a Party Wall Surveyors appointment can be terminated) and the Adjoining Owners needed to appoint a new Surveyor to act for them, meaning the process had to almost start de novo (from the beginning).
We acted tirelessly in close relation with the new Surveyor to allow the Building Owner to proceed with his works within a timely manner.
